Griploc Insert breaking
« on: February 07, 2006, 02:41:14 AM »
Hi everyone.  To those of you who have or installed the Griploc Interchangable Thumb inserts in your or customers equipment, I got a question for you.  Have any of your or your customers inserts, not the sleeves, come back being loose in the ball because of the locking slot on the outside of the insert cracking or chipping at the top of the slot where it clicks into the pins on the sleeves?  I had a couple of my friends inserts chip like this on a couple of their sleeves.  Usually this has been on only a couple of the sizes like I believe 7/8" and 61/64".  None of mine have ever cracked and I've had them the longest in my center and I pretty much use 31/32" exclusively.  I'm been meaning to email Tom at Griploc and get his point of view, but thought I would ask you guys.  Anything would help.  Thanx.

I believe griplock has changed the design of the sleeves in the last month.  Locking ring is stronger now.  If you have older inserts, that may be the problem.  Check with your proshop and griplock to make sure you have the latest design.
