Ever get that feeling........
« on: May 26, 2007, 12:25:15 PM »
That you really have made serious progress?  The last couple weeks I've focused on slowing my feet down following through to my target, and getting a clean release.  3 things.  I remember an interview with Peyton Manning where he says the time he really knew he had arrived was a pass he threw, and as he watched it thought "You know, that was a pretty good throw."  I've been getting that feeling watching the rotation of the ball, and how strong it is turning into the pocket, and the power the ball is hitting the pins with.  It has made a huge difference, not just in scores, but in confidence.  If I need a strike, I know if I do those things, I have an excellent chance of hitting the pocket and carrying.  Longer strings of strikes, and also doing those 3 things on spares has increased that percentage as well.  This has only been on house shots, but really looking forward to focusing on these things in Reno next weekend, and getting analyzed by Mike Jasnau to show me what other things I can still improve on.  I don't want to use the term "got it firgured out" but you get what I mean.  Things that I can rely on no matter what I'm scoring or not quite finding the right line yet.  Really good feeling, and hoping it continues to work this well.

Best of luck to you in Reno and I'm glad to hear about your game progressing. Every time I practice I feel like my game is improving as long as you know what needs to be done and realize it takes time. Again, best of luck in Reno!
