Is One Way Better Then The Other....Coverstock Adjustments
« on: January 02, 2013, 11:12:30 PM »
When a person buys a Storm VGN, are they really getting a VGNP also if they applied Step 2 Polish to the VGN?

Or vice versa, if they take a VGNP to 4000 Abralon?

Is it best to buy one over the other if you  plan on making coverstock adjustments, meaning buy the non pearl over the pearl?

To answer you question, no. Their are additives in the covers of pearl balls that solids just dont have. It allows the ball to bleed energy slower (because no ball retains energy, inside joke) hence, the better potential for backend reaction.

If you were to sand the VGN and the VGNP to the same surface, the solid would still be earlier than the pearl because of the cover additives. It is best to buy what fits your game, solids will be for earlier stronger midlanes, pearls will be for later transitions and backend reaction.

With that said you can get a similar reaction, but you are not going to turn one ball into another. Hope that answers you questions. I would also like to add (not directed at you GOM), dont be afraid to change the surface. There's too much out here to not experiment and find the surface that best suites your game.
