« on: March 12, 2005, 02:30:00 PM »
Got to bowl at Creekside with a GREAT bunch of guys:

Joe Falco, JPRLane1, Pin-Nut, Straightup7 and Strider.

Got the BR Bracelet (thanks Jesse).

Met Magic Carpet and bought a ball from Eric Forkel. It was a really great evening. Thanks Guys!

Yeah, he and Ron are holding a clinic this weekend. They were finishing up as we were starting. He had some used stuff for sale, I bought one and wished him the best for the remaining tourneys this season. He has his work cut out for him to keep his exempt status, but he was rolling the ball well so he may just do it. I hope he does.

Did Strider dust any of the gutters bowling ?
Best ditch/spare right hander I have ever bowled with.

Strider knows I'm just messing with him.

Did Ron out out a "real" shot for you or was it the house shot ?
I'm just curious.

Just want to add my two cents .. Had a great time .. great bunch of guys! The shot was good but I couldn't get the ball to the pocket. Bowled like it was my first outing .. but those things do happen.

I was in much of a festive mood .. just returned from a funeral in NY .. but we had a little time together after bowling where we sat down and had something to eat! A real interesting group.

Glad I had the opportunity to meet all of them and hope we get to do it again! SOON!

ZMan - Strider kept the ball on the lane most of the night - except fo that first attempt at a 10.  What was it Geoff?  About 35' before it fell in?

Had a great time last night with a bunch of good guys.  I hope I have 1/2 the bowling ability that Joe Falco has when I'm 45, much less a 'few' years older than that.  I'm sure if we had gone about 3 or 4 more games he would have run all of us young bucks into the lanebeds in scoring.

JPRLane1 is my new best friend because he thought I am younger than my 35 years - and he's left-handed to boot.  PekosBob is my parenting hero - and he's got a cool KISS spare ball!  Straightup7 was playing straight up 15.  Don't let the name fool you...

Good bowling, good food (including all of the eye-candy - who knew Chili's would be the place for that?) and a good time were had by all.

I got home at 1:40AM .  I'm getting a hotel room next time.

I had a blast and wanted to thank everyone again for coming, I thought it turned out really well.  Hopefully we can do it again sometime like Joe has suggested.  Great guys all the way around.  Pin-Nut is one hell of a bowler but then again I already knew that. I have a pic of our litte gathering I will have it up later on today.  Gotta go get some breakfast now.

Mornin' ALL,

Now Pin-nut; I thought that you promised me that would NOT tell everyone that my ball ONLY hooks 2 1/2 boards!!! No really, THANKS for making me laugh "first thing" on a Sunday morning........ Yeah, the lanes were a little slicker than I remember from last year.

It was NICE to meet a new face (Pin-nut), and see again some "on-line buddies". Joe, you are YOUNGER than ever. PLEASE tell us "your secret"...

Jesse, THANKS for putting this together!!!

Take care,  Jeff

Thanks for the wristbands and the effort organizing everything Jesse!

I normally loosen up much more first, but I did manage to keep the ball out of the gutter, except for the aforementioned 10 pin.    However, I showed my true versatility by performing my ZMan impersonation by leaving 4 washouts in the first 6 frames.  I did manage to shoot 220 the second game by moving about 30 boards left of ZMan's comfort zone.

It was good to see JRPLane1, straightUP7, and Joe Falco again.  Heck, I even beat Joe one game for a change.

It was also great to meet long time poster Pin-nut and a relatively new poster in PekosBob.  It was a shame I couldn't get there earlier, but I had a great time as usual.  Pretty good turnout for such short notice.

I just wanted to thank everyone for coming.
I am sorry Forkel and I was not able to stick around longer but we were beat and needed food. We had been going strong since 11am.
I really hope you guys had a great time.
We will try to do another "BIG" gathering this summer if you would like.

I would like for you folks to wish Forkel some good luck the next two tour stops. He must do very well the next two stops to make the exempt list for next year.
We have been working on his game for 8 days straight and I think he is in pretty good shape now. He says he feels the best he has felt in years and maybe ever. We will work again today then he will be off to do battle tomorrow.

Thanks again everyone and bowl great!
Ron Clifton

Well I know you do good work Ron and I know how good a bowler Eric is, looked like he was throwing the ball well from the little bit I saw of him.  He's got my luck I am pulling for him and hope it does him some good.

Hope we do have a formal Gathering this summer I will be sure to attend and if you need any help with it just let me know.

I had a great time at your house it was and always has been very nice and well run the couple of times I have been in it.

It sounds like a good time was had by all!  I'm sorry I missed it.  I enjoy going to Ron's place and having some fun.  It's also great to meet the BallReviews folks.

Ron, keep us posted on what you decide for a bigger gathering later this year.  I hope I can make it.
