I am excited to bowl tonight! The PBA Experince starts tonight. and I relish the chance the to bowl on the PBA Patterns for the summer instead of the standard league grind.

Don't think of the bowl.com videos as gospel.  The shot plays different everywhere and depending on the lane surface and machine may not even remotely look like what it is supposed to be...
just play what the lanes give you.  You can not "make a shot work" like on a THS.
in practice throw a slightly slower shot up 5, up 10, and up 15 and then pick your best shot to get to the pocket.

I wasted 4 weeks trying to play the pattern how you are "supposed" to play it.
Don't get discouraged and don't try to be a superstar.  
The lanes usually play you.. you usually don't overpower the lanes.

I'm jealous, mine doesn't start until May 27th at one of the local Brunswick houses.  They are going to bring in Carolyn Dorin-Ballard to put on a seminar and coach us for the first night...it should be fun.

Thanks for the support this is my fourth or fifth summer on the PBA Patterns the first couple of years werent actually sanctioned it was just something a house and some guys did. The last three years have been the actual PBAX League sanctioned and everything. I usually average 190s to around 210 depends on the pattern. I want to work on Viper and Cheetah the other three I am pretty good at.

I wish there was PBA X leagues around here in the summer, last night before league they put the Chameleon shot down which is going to be the regional oil pattern coming up next weekend.  My buddy that will be bowling in it asked me to bowl w/ him.  I didnt have to move much just slow up a bit, and shot 228 w/ 2 opens, and 215.  Was pleased and actually suprised to score that high

I bowled in a PBAX league last year but I don't know if I want to do it again this year.  The patterns were tougher than the house shot at times but I bowled in a PBAX league this winter at a different house that made the patterns I bowled on before look easy.  I'm not sure if they were put down accurately or not but the league wasn't sanctioned, and I didn't have to fight the over/under that I fought all season this time around.

The first one I was on, they didn't play the they were "suppose". Come to find out that the laneman wasn't stripping the lanes before he applied the patterns which made them play much differently..

Well my first two and half games werent bad on Chameleon last night. 199 and a pair of high 170s due to poor spare shooting my part then the last game I tried and experiment with the break down thatdidn't even come close to working. Overall I have bowled alot worse on this pattern in the past so I was happy with it even if it doesn't sound that good.

I have to focus on throwing straight at spares and not hooking it that cost me a good six the 3 games of the set.
