New Dry Lane Ball
« on: August 13, 2016, 10:02:10 AM »
Was looking for a new dry lane ball to replace my green ascent.  Storm or roto grip ball is what I am looking for.  Had a hy road and didn't like it.  So something other than that.

  • No I won't put a hole in the lane, Mr. Proprietor!

I know its not the brand you requested but the brunswick tzone is amazing. You do not have to worry about staying near the  pocket  with this ball. It's just the carry you need to watch for.  It only requires you to move  about 3 or 4 boards right throughout the night, but the ball is so different so its time to move right when
YOU feel, not the OTHER bowlers! Hope this helps.

Will expand arsenal after I polish my spares.

My buddy had great success with the Ride last season, so whatever is the new version of that should work great

The Storm Ride/Joyride or RG Loco would be the closest.
Right Handed
Motiv Venom Shock, Motiv Freestyle, Storm Mix
avg: 221 - hg: 300 x7

Left Handed
Storm Street Fight, Storm Mix
avg: 180

I would suggest the Ride as I love mine. The Hy-Road is a Med-Heavy oil ball so if you used it for light oil than no you would not have liked it.

Axiom Pearl
Phaze III

How many more boards hook would a Hustle (SAY) be over the Ride.

I would say about 2-3. The Hustle's are plenty strong for that price point and the Ride needs a lot of friction to hook and hit.

I love my Hustle Pro for dry lanes. Amazing hitting power for the price.
