suggestions on ball

National Ballls

Ultra Zone pin down at 2000 abralon
Total Inferno pin up at 4000 abralon
Street Rod pin up at OOB finish 2000 abralon
I just received my Dimension what pattern and surface  would you put on this. Weak or Strong drilling. This will be my oiler. Thanks in advance.

Uhmmm...sorry in advance to sound like a jerk but ...

Why would you put a weak drill on an 'oiler'?

Did you read the reviews here online?
I'd go for forward roll and predictability if indeed that's what you want it for ...your "oiler" ...

I know it has its advantages on certain conditions or places. There was a good article on this a few days ago on this site. I'm just looking for suggestions before i punch it up.  Thanks

I would put some sort of pin down drilling on it and start the surface at 2000 abralon.

strongest used to be my Total Inferno but after i took it up to 4000 the mid lane went away. But in order now it is:

Ultra
Street Rod
Total

Ultra is the earliest.

Depends on how you define "oiler."  For some people, that's a ball that's amazingly condition specific, built only to handle absolute soup and you have to put it up after just one game because it starts burning up early.  For others (like me) an oiler is set up a little weaker to let you camp out in one spot a little longer without completely burning a hole in the lane.  A lot of that depends on how you roll the ball.  If you've got more axis tilt and axis rotation, you'll need a stronger ball to pick up sooner.  If you stay up the back of it a little more, you can get away with something not as strong.  I've got a Cell with a pin down layout, but the pin is at least 5.5" in from my PAP, and I've only seen ONE time ever where it wasn't quite enough ball, and that was the 53' oil pattern from hell they used in the Bradley Open this year (320 and 500 abralon pads were being passed around between friends before practice started just to prep for that pattern!).

Jeff, like i said it was really strong at rough buff. I took it up from 500 abralon all the way to 4000. It look as if it has polish on it but it does not. It is really glassy and now has no mid lane. It has length and strong flip so my Street Rod is a few feet earlier and just as strong as my Total.

I drilled it up last night,( Dimension ) and will update later. It was a x-Blem i purchased for $50 and i knew it would have a long pin, just didn't think it would be 9 inch pin. i will be on the national pattern in a few days at home and will see what it does. Kevin
