Hanging up
« on: November 04, 2008, 03:16:23 PM »
With my Cell, I am hanging up slightly in the thumb hole and I am lofting it a bit. Is there a certain part of the hole I should sand down a bit to end this? I can't really tell where it's hanging up, I just know that it is. Thanks.

When ever I hang up in the thumb hole I sand a little off the sides of the thumb hole first not the front or back. I go really slow until it feels right. Sometimes I will take some off the back but I never take any off the front.

Here is my standard procedures for finishing a thumb and/or finding hang up spots.  Assuming that the thumb hole is drilled correctly do the following:  Put your hand in the ball and hold it down by your side and just let it hang there.  DO NOT seing the ball back and forth.  Look striaght ahead and close your eyes.  Feel the pressure on your hand/thumb.  Open your eyes and mark on the ball where you feel the pressure.  Once marked depending on the amount of pressure take a piece of sand paper, screen or a bevel knife to the area opposite of where you have placed the mark on the ball.  Repeat the procedure until all pressure is gone.
