Hartsville-Florence SC area
« on: February 19, 2009, 10:46:35 AM »
I will be in Hartsville SC for the next 2 months. I am a avid bowler and need to stay practiced for Nationals. Can anyone tell me where there is a good center in the area. Florence is about 45 mins away. I am willing to drive to get to a good center. Any that have sport shot or put out National pattern? Any good pro shops/drillers around?

Re: DESCRIBE YOUR HOME HOUSE
Well I bowl at 2 different houses during the week.
Southgate Bowling Center - 40 wood lanes.
Pro Shop that's ran by a great guy. He is extremely helpful and I haven't heard him ever talk about another pro shop badly.
Game room with couple pool tables, air hockey, about 25 video games.
Snack Bar is overly priced but the food is pretty good.
Full Lounge with nightly drink specials, the liquor is reasonably priced.
The lanes don't break down often but they have more than one person in the back so the lane usually isn't down long.
One thing I like about this house is they have earpieces for the lane attendants so they don't have to keep announcing over the loud speaker when there's a problem anywhere in the house.

The other house:
All Star Lanes - 24 synthetic lanes
This place has been around forever.
The lanes mess up quite a bit but they try to get them back up and running as fast as they can.
It could use a makeover and I believe they are working on that.
BUT the people there are so helpful. You can always get good advise on anything about bowling from the bowlers there.
They seem to be more down to earth than the other house.

Southgate

and Lee's All Star Lanes are in Florence

Lee's is on Cashua Drive, and I've forgotten what road southgate is on.. I just remember it being by a Super Walmart and going through downtown to get there
