Has anybody used a product called

Rowl Rite grip strips? I just saw this product and it looks like something that might be good thing to try. I'd love to hear from anyone who may have used them. Thanks!

rubberized strips about 1/2 " wide.Maybe about 1-1 1/4" long. Had a customer ask for them and I still have a few packs left. Didn't seem to last that long before wearing out. If you want I will send you a couple to try. Send your address in a pm

Yup! good stuff! I bowl with the creator of this product. They allow you to hold the ball without squeezing, depending on how you position the strip in your thumbhole. Some people like it up, near the lip of the hole, others like it placed down deep in the hole. Experiment to find out what works for you.

 

They come in various widths, and also vary in thickness as well. A very good product and worth the money!

It is a great product. I was always messing with thumb tape until I met Roger. I could never get the feel right for a consistant release. Roger stopped by my job and introduced me to his products, and they are amazing. It took some time to get used to the feel of the Grip Strips, but once I did, my release is the most consistant that it has ever been.
If and when you try them, take the time to mess with them, move them around and try to find the perfect spot. Like I said, it took a bit to find the right spot to put them in, but once I did......

The Grip Strip is great! I bought some 2 years ago just out of curiosity. I have stopped using the traditional white tape since. Once you get it where you like it, the ball just kinda holds on to you until it is supposed to let go. I get out of the ball better now than I ever have. Definitely give it a try.

Grip strip is what the name infers. Goes on the front of the thumb hole for 'grip" slower release and the magic carpet is for the back of the thumb hole that feels somewhat like the soft part of velcro and adjust SLIGHTY for your thumb size while helping release issues.

Thanks raiderh20boy ... I use the Magic Carpet, but I never heard of the grip strips, so I didn't know where they went. Are the grip strips thicker than white tape?

Grip strips are thicker. Roughly like 3 pieces of white tape. If your thumb hole is snug with 2 pieces, you would probably have to open up the hole to use them.

You can buy direct from their website www.rowlriteinc.com
Just click on the products tab and you can see all there products.
The Grip Strips are there namesake product. But if you ever have a chance to try the Grime Solver or the Dry N Slide. They are also "cant be without products" If you do alot of bowling.

I don't understand how a piece of tape will loose grip pressure?  Wouldn't it be the same if you just make it snug with white tape and some turbo tape on the thumb?

It is hard to explain the difference between the white tape and the Grip Strips. When I was using the white tape, I was always taking it in and out and moving it around trying to get the feel right. With the Grip Strips, once you find the right spot for them thats it. The difference in feel is night and day. There is no more squeezing....no more hanging up in the ball.
If you decide to try them, just take the time to get it in the right place. You will be surprised by the difference in how far up or down in the thumb hole you put it. Just take the time to work with it.

You just about have me talked into trying these "grip strips"

Do you use the 1" or the 3/4" strips?

I use the 3/4" more. It just gives me a better feel. Once you try them, you will like them.
Just give yourself time to play with them. Just remember when you use the first one, if it grips too much, just move it down further in the hole. They are made to be moved around and will not leave any sticky stuff in your ball. It took me a few weeks of good use till I had find the right spot to put them. You will have to try different positions. But I will never go back to white tape.
Its nice when your thumb hole grips your thumb, not the other way around.
