conventional grip
« on: March 01, 2005, 09:03:45 PM »
After reading an earlier post, I was just wondering if a person could compete on a  typical house shot using this type of grip? I have tried just about every type of span and pitch change you can imagine, worked with some highly skilled ball drillers, tried several types of wrist braces, even dropped down in ball weight and still because of some wrist injurys come away some nights with wrist and finger pain and was wondering if this would relieve the pain but was hesitant to try it for fear of not being able to attain an average to stay competetive. Any thoughts? Thanks.

One question... do you only have the standard 3 hole currently drilled?  Maybe try semi-fingertip with a pinky hole, and maybe an index finger hole - might be easier on your fingers and wrist if you have more fingers to hold the ball with?  I dunno, just guessing here.

As to your original question, I agree with Sawbones in that with todays equipment I think you could still be competitive with a conventional drill - you just might have to work on accuracy a little more than others.  Good Luck!
