Need some help filling arsenal gap or gaps for Nationals
« on: April 22, 2011, 05:07:26 AM »
I've been practicing locally at a center that has been putting a shot at least close to Nationals and I believe I have a gap or two in my arsenal.

I have the follwing bowling balls set asaide for Nationals:

Nano pin above the ring

Eagle pin below the ring

Grand Illusion pin above the ring.

I have a Mega Friction pin above the ring that has given me a pretty look early on.

The gap I believe I have is between the Eagle and the Grand Illusion.  Eagle is too strong step down to the Grand Illusion and it barely turns the corner.

PAP is 4 7/8 and 5/8 ip, ball speed is about 16.5 but measured 13.4 at the pin deck revs about 300.

Thanks for reading,

My current set up has the Pin down Eagle factory 2000 surface, older pin down Break out that was polished and hit it by hand with 2000 abralon, pin up Eagle I had hit with light coat of Black Magic over the 2000, pin up Bank polished but will adjust with a little 4000 and pin down Favorite. The Favorite has a 4000 surface, but might be a good choice with a touch more surface to fill the gap better. It is a symetrical core with a milder cover. Used these on the Nationals pattern on Friday and they really made a nice set. Working with Fleming the game plan at this time is to start with the pin down Eagle and be able to have the other two pin down balls to go to if it is hooking too much. The pin up stuff and weaker Favorite might be the D/S options. My ball speed is in the high 14's to low 15's with 350 - 425 rpm.

Roll with 900 Global.

Thank you Tex.  I ordered a second Eagle.  I'll drill it pin above the bridge and kick the MB.
