Ball Selection help..

I am pretty much set on my heavier oil equipment but I'm looking for some suggestions for medium oil and dry lanes.  I have a killed slingshot for really dry lanes but I'm not sure what I need for between my slingshot and my older game breaker. I'd say right now my gamebreaker would be my weakest heavier oil ball.. just cause of the drill and age.  I'm looking for suggestions for a really angular medium oil ball for when I need to get really deep and inside.  And also a smooth controllable ball for medium oil.

Any suggestions??

Your smooth controllable motion could easily be achieved by a crossroad or hyroad!

My defiant edge is my deep angular ball ....on medium oil  OR an opened up shot

Ofcourse you can step waaaaay down with a shatter for the angular piece..and a frantic for the controllable motion...but i dont have those yet!  I can only relate to what i own..and those will probably be too strong for what u want. 

Definitely check em out, Those are my picks from storm / roto...im sure EBI, brunswick, 900g have compareable rocks..those fanboys will chime in soon!

I was thinking about a hyroad. I had one when I was throwing 16 lbs and it seemed very strong.  It could be an option. I think it would be pretty close to my game breaker though.. or maybe even stronger.  Maybe looking for something similar in control and strength as a 900 Global creature...
I think the defiant edge would be too much for me as well for the condition I am looking for.  I'm probably looking for maybe something maybe in the black widow pearl strength and angularity.. Not sure what would be similiar in today's equipment.

Look into the Violent Eruption.  I punched one up about a month ago and is my favorite ball right now.  I had several heavy rolling pieces at the beginning of the year that were great when I could play no deeper than 3rd arrow.  When I moved in, the balls were too weak on the backend and left 10 pins like crazy.  I bought the Violent Eruption and it took care of all those 10 pins.  This ball allows me to kick them out playing 15 out to 8-10 and also when I move in and play 22 out to 5.  So far I have not found a place where I cant carry 10 pins from.  The ball is angular but not so skid flip that it is uncontrollable.

I would suggest a DV8 Marauder Madness for a medium oil ball. The box finish is at 4000 to get through the heavy head oil, but it can be polished to give a more angular reaction or it is starting up too early. This ball is great for house shots or sport patterns, and would be a great benchmark ball.

Another ball that would work great on medium oil is the Brunswick C*(System) versa-max. This ball is very versatile! With its higher RG value, it will clear the heads, store energy, and finish with an arcing motion.  It can be kept in the box finish with the polish, or can be taken to 2000 or 4000 to smooth out the reaction.

+1 for the violent eruption and versa max. a couple more to look at is the tropical heat and cyclone.

Good one two punch for med is VersaMax and Meanstreak...if these are still too strong one could drop down a little to Karma Solid and Karma Pearl.

If a little more angular motion is what you are looking for the DV8 Marauder Maddness and Marauder make a great combo as well (my current THS/League combo). 

Compared to the VersaMax the Maddness is a little cleaner through the heads and still reads the mids well but starts to make its move a little farther down the lane than the VersaMax.  The reaction to friction, while faster than the Versa, is still continous and predictable with a little more angle than the Versa, not flippy.  When I had both in my arsenal I preferred the Versa on shorter patterns and the Maddness on longer patterns.  Still have both, just not in them bag at the same time anymore.
