all this talk of A and B games got me thinking of this year so far in recap. Starting out this summer i had one game, grip it and rip it, hit it as hard as i can, as many rotations as possible and get it out. But i have learned thru maturity to play not what line i want to play, but what line the lanes give me and what line scores the best. Being left handed of course most shots which score the best are up 10-15 with alittle belly but not much. To do this i had to take hand out of the ball, something i had never done before, an open hand release.

After awhile every house seemed to cater to this shot, all except one which i have struggled with until a few weeks ago when i tried getting inside, slowing the ball down from my usual 18-20 mph to about 15, lowering my track and putting alot of side roll on the ball, which has worked absolute wonders.

Other tournaments i find piping it hard up ten 20-22 mph worked very well, either with end over end or some side rotation.

This entire yr has basically been geared toward me developing a B and C game, i haven't used my "A" game at all.

And now when i try to go back to my "A" game which is a cranker, i don't have the consistancy in release, speed, or accuracy i once had.

I guess its a good thing, a left hander playing inside of 20 all the time on walls is not a good thing scoring wise. I am now more of a power stroker, but i never even saw it change, i just woke up one day and realized the fundamentals of my best game are different. Instead of opening my hips, getting underneath the ball and grabbing it, i think of a smooth armswing, leverage, good kneebend, changes in release or rotation or hand positions.

anyone else experience this? Having a B and C game turn into your A and not even realizing it, when i go back to my A game i feel out of control, where before it felt natural, now it feels like it used to when i would take my hand out of the ball or slow it down or open hand it. anyone else have this happen?
