Proud Husband

My wife bowled the Spokane Womens City tournament today.  She went back to back 700s in Doubles and singles.  This puts her within 400 of the scratch all events lead.  She bowled so well.  Her doubles partner shot 638, so they shot 1340 scratch in doubles plus 56 pins of handicap puts them in second place!!!!

Congrats to her.  I'm jealous, my wife hates bowling and won't get caught wearing "those shoes".

Didn't you know that the ball has to match the shoes, which has to match the bag, which has to match the shirt?  Geez..........

Andrew, great bowling and dont you dare take any credit for her success.

Hope she has a good team event and can take over all events.  You two should enter every mixed doulbes events you can find.

I helped with adjustments and such......

There is a problem with all events, she wasn't scheduled to bowl a team event.  However, today she was asked after she paid for the doubles/singles entry.  She was just informed that she couldn't pay for all events after bowling an event.  I looked on the entry and it doesn't say you have to pay prior to bowling any event.  So, I told her to fight it.

Nevermind, just read rule 306.

Damn.

That is some pretty great shooting, and I bet you were even more excited than she was as you watched.

She finished with 627 today.  Different house, they run the wall from hell.  Super dry right, puddle in the middle.  If she got anything past 8 at the breakpoint every ball hit like a marshmallow.

All in all, she smoked the scratch all events by 230 pins.  I did bring Rule 306 D to the tourney directors attention, which he was unaware of.  So, she will get the plague or trophy.

Total Scratch was 2037, handicap was 2056.  I was also incorrect, she placed second in singles and they WON doubles.

Nice bowling for your wife. I have a couple of questions. What is rule 306 d? And what average did your wife come in with?

Thanks

Fees and Prizes: All-Events
Rule 306. Participants in a tournament may be charged an optional fee for an all-events contest when
two or more events are scheduled or when two or more tournaments are conducted under the same
management. When an all-events fee is charged, the following apply:
a. Expense fees may be charged for participation in an optional all-events contest when in accordance with
the requirements in Rule 305.
b. The all-events fee must be paid before the advertised closing date for entries or before the participant
bowls any of the events, whichever comes first.
c. An all-events entry can be transferred if the transfer is made before either of the bowlers involved have
participated in any event of the tournament.
d. Distribution of prizes shall comply with the formula prescribed for payment of regular position prizes
and the ratio of return shall be at least one to 20 or major fraction thereof, unless the tournament rules
state another prize ratio. Where a trophy or award, other than cash awards, is offered for the all-events
championship, the bowler who places first in all-events is entitled to the award even if the bowler did
not pay the optional fee. In such instances, the trophy or award cannot be considered as part of the
all-events prize fund, and must be purchased from other funds.

She came in with a 207 average.

I wish my wife would do that more. I tell her to but she always says she is happy bowling with me and watching me at tournaments.

T.J.

BOWLING IS FUN NO MATTER WHAT YOU SCORE. BUT A 300 IS ALWAYS NICE.

STRIKE ZONE, ONSLAUGHT, REVS, FLIP & PYRO. STAND 22 AND THROW 10 OUT TO 5 AND CRUSH THE POCKET. AT LEAST THAT IS THE PLAN OF THE NIGHT...

GOOD LUCK AND GOOD BOWLING!!!
