Have a Question on Finger Pain.
« on: March 07, 2011, 05:20:40 AM »
Ok my problem is when I am throwing the ball really well, I will get a bruise under my finger nail on my ring finger. It does not happen all at once, it sorta happens over time as the night goes on. The next day is when I really notice it as it will be sore to the touch, but like I said it happens when I really am throwing the ball well. Also after time I get this dead skin like crap growing under my finger nail because of this, and that also causes a problem after time.
What could be causing this to happen?
And how can I stop this from happening in the future?
Thanks in advance.

Sounds to me like you have bad pitch in that finger. I would take it into the shop and explain what is going on and try to play with your pitch until you find what is right.

Sounds like your span might be to long, or the pitch of the ring finger needs to be changed. Show your finger to your ball driller and he/she will know what to do to correct it.

Also, the griips glove will not correct span and/or pitch problems.  Have your pro shop check span and pitch.

There is also a fungus that forms under nails on hands and feet.  It can make the finger sore if aggravated.

I literally had this exact same problem. Pitch changes didn't fix it, so I decided to try sarge easter. It's the best thing I've ever done. Take an old ball you don't use anymore and have it re-drilled sarge easter. I'm 99.9% sure you'll love it. It makes the problem totally go away.

The only things that are truly permanent are death and Sharpies.
