Bowler's Slide Sock
« on: June 07, 2004, 09:31:57 PM »
Several weeks ago I asked for feedback from those that had used the Bowler's Slide Sock.  It was almost all positive, so I decided to get one, and want to report on my experience.  Since I have 15 EE feet, I had to order a custom made sock.  No problem.  I drew the outline of my slide foot on a sheet of legal size paper, filled out the order form on the web site, and mailed the outline.  I got a response from Robert on a Thursday that they had received the outline and would be making the sock the next day.  I received the sock the next week.  Took it to the center, scuffed it on the carpet per their directions, and was very careful with it for the first few times I used it.  For me, it took about two games for it to get dialed in and for me to get used to it.  Since then, I have had absolutely no approach problems, whereas before I would occasionally hit a sticky or slick area especially when shooting corner spares.  Our center has wood lanes and approaches.  I have not tried it yet on other surfaces.  I am sufficiently satisfied that our center plans to add the sock to our product inventory.  --  JohnP
