Some interesting things happened while I was practicing...
« on: November 25, 2012, 07:49:13 AM »
As a revival to an old topic I created:
I have done some interesting things during practice lately.  I feel there is some improvement in my style.  Recently I was able to string four strikes in a row on the 42 ft. US Open pattern, which, I don't know about anyone else, I think for myself, was impressive.  All in the pocket.  :) Yet, my pocket percentage was really good too, IMO.  I was bowling without score.  Additionally, my spare game was SUFFERING.  Soon after, in future sessions, I was having significant issues hitting my target at the arrows.  I think I am releasing the ball too far away from my ankle. Yet in those sessions, my spare game was clear-as-day better!  Just the other day, I was bowling on a 51.5 ft. sport shot, flat gutter to gutter, with a medium application.  Now that was a weird day. Using a Track Machine, I was "trying" to play up 15 early on, but what did the ball do?  The Machine went runaway crossover, missing the headpin left.   :o  I had a bad ball reaction, not just because it was a sport shot, but because I HAD NO CLUE WHERE TO PLAY!!!!
I could not play the lanes where I was SUPPOSED to play them!  OK, everyone. Here is the thing that deserves a spot in Awkward Hall of Fame:  I was hooking an old school urethane Burgandy Faball Hammer that I found at this alley on this 51.5 footer! From where you would ask?  I talked to an oil pattern programmer, complaining that my shot was hooking too much, so he told me to try the Faball Hammer for a few shots after I finished the two games I was bowling.  I am NOT giving you cow waste!  So where was I hooking this puppy staight up from?  Get ready...  Not 15 Not even 13, NOT EVEN 10, IT WAS 4!!!!!!!!  :o THIS IS INSANE!!!! Anybody have any tips on how I can improve my swing slot?  Thanks.  ;D
