Sorry for the longish post, and I am sure most don't care, but I need to get out my feelings about bowling. All my life I have been told I spin the ball and I shouldn't, blah blah blah. Sooooo, at the end of last season and the summer I worked strictly on staying up the back of the ball more and not "spinning" it. I figured out how to stay behind the ball and get up the back of it and now my scores on the THS have just dropped straight through the floor. And the worst part is, when I try to go back to the way I used to throw it, I just grab the S*&$ out of it and it just is not pretty. I can get to the pocket all night long, I just cannot get all 10 to fall. My best looks, which makes no sense for me, is taking my urethane hammer and basically pointing it at the head pin with a little tip on the backend and mixing the rack up. Every time I have a reactive in my hand I hit the pocket and leave a flat 10. Make a move, 4 pin. Make another move, 2 pin. And so forth.
It is just extremely frustrating right now, and I know I will figure it out, I have been in worse slumps. I am still shooting low 6's but that doesn't do me any good on the great wall of china. Spares me pretty much nothing. If you aren't striking 7+ times in the leagues I bowl in you aren't going to win your point regardless if you make your spares.
Just a frustrating situation I guess. Sorry for venting, and if any suggestions go ahead and read them. Thanks for reading.
