Hello everyone, I''m having some trouble finding success in my early shift. Everything I have just skids, and skids way too far. My most aggressive ball is the Virtual Gravity drilled 4 x 4 with a 2" pin buffer. I''ve tried this ball at various surfaces, (Too long at 4000 & 2000 abralon, and it seems to exert too much energy at 1000 and down). It doesn''t help that if I get this ball (or any ball for that matter) outside of the five board, it hooks as soon it touches the lane. I''ve tried bouncing off of the dry boards (with marginal success), I''ve tried playing in the soup (If I take the VG straight up anything inside the 7 board, its 60 feet of skid.), and I''ve tried playing right up the dry (I can find the pocket but carry becomes a HUGE problem for me.)
Usually the people in our house start straight up the track area, and then as the night progresses, they move further and further inside. But with my *BLESSING* or in this case *CURSE*, being left handed means no track area to rely on. I was wondering if I could find a ball that moves slightly more than a Virtual Gravity, albeit drilling, surface prep, and ball selection. Predictability is a must for me, on this lane condition the VG is simply too squirty.
I was hoping it was just me, but when I leave this house to bowl tournaments, I end up scoring extremely well. (195 average in league, last two tournaments have had series of 720, 713). Prior to changing to this league, I averaged 209 in the same house, just a different pattern.
Please note, this is not a bash on my Virtual Gravity at all, outside of this league it is golden. I''ve shot many decent scores, and overall I am very pleased with the reaction it has given me. I''m just looking for something to really dig into this swamp and give me a defined reaction. Brand means nothing to me, so long as the ball works. I''ve been looking into an Original Cell, a Bounty Hunter, or maybe an AMF Mega Friction. Thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.
