Bowling ball getting expensive?
« on: January 28, 2009, 04:40:51 AM »
Do you think that the bowling balls are getting expensive lately? Most of the high level balls more than $140 on line right now, how often you buy a new ball now or will you  buy less ball now?

The price of new high end bowling equipment has not changed since I started bowling at 13 years old.  High range bowling balls (El Nino, Red Wolf) from the mid 90's were $220 drilled.  Today's stuff in the same range is $220 drilled.

I don't see any difference in price, just differences in performance.

I guess another difference would be that back in the mid 90's where the El Nino would be a high end "heavy oil" ball, today it would be a mid range ball that would sell for $160 or so.

They are cheaper than ever LOL.  You obviously forgot how much balls used to be when there was no internet and particularly the Quantum line.  Both of my Helix's retailed in the $300+ range.  Now you can get a ball that hooks like 10x as much for under $100.

Imagine trying to stock a pro shop when we're paying those same prices as the e-tailers.  Yeowch!
