Help!!!!
« on: March 23, 2012, 10:23:37 PM »
I want to buy a new ball and i don't know which one....I bowl in Greece and I don't face much oil even in the leagues...I am thinking about the grape vibe the epidemic and the hy road...I release the ball with the speed of 16-17.5 miles but I am a low-averaged rev player...which one should I buy??? thanks...

You might want to think about the track 300T its a great cheep ball i have 2 and love both one is pin up over the bridge sanded at 4000 and the other is pin down under ring at 1000.

the hyroad is rather aggressive to be honest with you. i am not a hammer lover so i cant say anything about the epidemic but i know the vibe series is one of hammers all time leading series. now if you plan on going with storm the 2 fast, tropical heat, and frantic are rather good from what i have seen. most people are shocked when they throw the tropical heat because they are expecting a weak ball but to be honest it is far from weak. the frantic is more versatile than the hyroad from what i have seen.

You need to compete for something greater than just winning.

I think that a strong ball should help me because of my low rev style...However that might change because my coach find the distance from the 2 fingers to the thumb too long...so my revs might be higher...I really don't know :/ In addition frantic is too difficult to be found in greece and 2 fast is not destroying the pins as the epidemic or the vibe...

Well if your not seeing allot of oil, I would not get a super aggressive ball until you actually know how you are going to throw the ball. When you get the correct fit and some more coaching you might regret that decision.

Why don't you ask your coach?

I asked him and he tolded my to byu the hy road but my only doubt is that is an old ball and i think that the new more powerful coverstocks will help my low rev style...

There is nothing wrong with an older ball.  In fact, in some cases it may be a better fit for someone.  Talk to your coach or some of the better bowlers in your area that either know the lanes you bowl at or know how you bowl, and ask them which balls would be a good match for you on those conditions.  If the lanes are dry as you say, getting an aggressive ball may not be the correct choice.

Well thank you all for the help it was really helpful. Finally I came up with the idea of drilling a dirty bomb that it was given to mme in a good condition and also buy a grape vibe for the lighter oil conditions...in that way i'll have a beeter arsenal to start my efforts in the greek championship next year...how is this sounds to u?
