Greetings, I am new to the forum on here. I have read quite a few reviews over the years but finally decided to try the forum. Here's the deal, I am ready to get a new ball and update my other bowling equipment. I started bowling right at the time when Reactathane first made its appearance; anyone here beside me miss the Red Ninja Fury, man what a ball!
Anyway, I will be returning to the military bowling classic in January for the first time since '02 and do not want to embarrass myself or my teammates. Things have changed drastically over the years and I feel I am behind the times. I am currently using a No Limit, which up until the last month or so had been working quite well for me. I was 200+ and now all of a sudden I am backsliding. My poor bowling has even let me lose my cool, something that I do not do on the lanes.
This is where I could use some advice from all of you. Here's a little about my bowling, please let me know what you think would be some good balls to further check into for purchase.
Avg Speed: around 15
Down and in player, I absolutely do not like standing on the left and just throwing it right.
I am an above avg spare shooter and would rather leave a 10 pin and face the challenge of picking it up than anything else.
I am a right-right handed bowler.
Ball track is standard for a down and in type player with angle positions about 1 and 1/2 to 2 inches from the left of the grip holes to about 1/2 inch from thumb.
My biggest issue is that I have difficulty getting through the heads because of my slow ball speed. It is so frustrating that bowling balls are marketed to the crankers, yet there are still pros kicking behind on the tour who are more down and in. I don't need or want all the flash, I'm just a simple guy wanting to get back to where I used to be in the 90s.
I usually go with pin out type placements but have not had a new ball in a while and have lost track of all the terminology with drilling techniques.
