i just bought a pack of microfiber so i can wipe off the ball after each frame but there was this guy from opposing team said its illegal to use microfiber towel during league or tournament play. if anyone here can can give me a legit answer on this.. thanks a lot..

He told you a bunch of BS. Yes, you can use a micro fiber towel. All it does is take dirt, grime & oil off of the ball. You cannot use anything that alters the surface finish of the ball, such as scotch brite or sand paper. Also, you cannot put polish that has an abrasive in it on your towel or for a product to be approved at anytime, the product must not soften the ball surface or leave a residue. USBC has a list of cleaners allowed during competition & a list for after competition. They also have a list of products that are not supposed to be used ever.

When you get there, you have to scroll down to the equipment and specs section, then click on the "more" link on the right.

When it says "approved ball list", look below that and it has a link to approved cleaners/polishes. When you click that, you get the text from the above post, initially.
