Anyone have sponsors???
« on: October 04, 2004, 03:17:58 AM »
I was at a tourney on saturday, and this one kid, and his dad were saying that he had a sponsor. It was some racing company that the dad worked for, they paid for his entry into the tourney, and bought him a new ball. Anyone out there ever heard of this? I'm actually looking into having my aunts real estate company she works for sponsor me, and get my stuff redrilled.

Yes...it's been done from youth bowlers all the way up to PBA touring stars.  Sponsors mainly do it out of the goodness of their hearts.  Especially youth bowlers who have no way of earning prize $.  Depending on the agreement you work out with the sponsor for adult bowlers some or all of the prize $ goes back to the sponsor/s.

Before you enter into a sponsor agreement with any sponsor....make sure you know what their expectations are and tell them what your's are also.

PBA stars on the way up thru regionals and the regular tour almost always sell shares of themselves to offset expenses.
