18 mph and 400 revs are a little more then stroker.I would look for something smooth and something that backends hard.pick a company and look for these two balls that will give you the reaction you desire.

First off you're not really a stroker w/ 18mph & 400 rev rate - more of a "power tweener." In terms a 2-ball arsenal, you want something that can handle medium-heavy oil, & then something suited for medium-light conditions. Ideally 1 ball (for you the more hooking), should have an arching ball reaction, while the less aggressive should have a more skid/flip breakpoint shape. This gives you greater flexibility when playing the lanes. Any of the ball combos below would be fine. All will give you what you need, without breaking the bank. I would say go w/ whatever pair you can get the cheapest.

In terms of drilling, for the oil ball put the pin below your ring finger, w/ the CG kicked slightly out right. This helps generate a smooth ball reaction. For the dry lane ball, I would go with the pin above & between your fingers w/ the CG kicked out right. This is going to get the ball farther down the lane before it starts hooking, and give you a more "flippy" ball reaction. Hope all this helps.

At 170 you are missing too many spares and not in the pocket consistently enough.  I would get a coach rather then spending more money on balls.  Plus I would join leagues and teams on which you are not the highest average bowler, so you can learn from higher average bowlers about lane play during play.

You can't go wrong with brunswick,

Ultra ZOne(med to heavy oil)
Twisted Fury.light oil to Med)

or

Ultra Zone
Smash ZOne(med oil) this balls has alot of backend, where the ultra zone turns in the midlane.
