All spare game . .
« on: September 22, 2004, 04:27:14 AM »
Kinda cool, I'd never done it before righthanded, bowled one last night lefthanded (in league).  I've finally graduated to resin now too, although the plastic ball still rules all.

question on this one.  If you have a spare every frame wouldn't you leave an open on the 12th ball.  I am just wondering as I said one time look I had an all spare game and guy who had been bowling a lot longer than me informed me there was no such thing.

I don't really play cards and I am not 79, but it fits together somehow.

Shooting an all spare game- feels good, no? Makes me feel good when I do it.

I've never had an all spare game, however I did manage to complete my junior masters qualifying without an open. You would think my score would have been good. I shot 535. I didn't strike enough, bought a new ball quickly after that.

I shot a dutch last week in league.  It was cool, but sorta frustrating.  I was in the pocket on one lane and kept leaving single pins.

Lol, it sucks when you're trying to strike, but no opens also rocks, especially when my spares have been a little shaky thus far.  I only have 4 weeks under my belt, and have done respectable for switching hands on the fly, but you know me.  I had a 177.  A couple 6 and 7 counts were responsible for that . .

And, btw, apparently I get a patch for it, so it must just be one of those things.

My understanding is that an all spare game, as recognized by ABC and WIBC, is a game where a bowler has spares in frames one through 10.  The result of the fill ball has no effect upon the eligibility for the award.

My Mom once had a game with all nine-counts and spares, a "natural" 190 all spare game.  She also had all nine-counts and spares but a strike on the fill, for 191.  She still has both patches.
