Title: Help choosing my fiancee a new ball
Post by: cooksey on May 21, 2004, 08:47:52 PM
Hello all, I am in need of some advise. My woman needs a new ball for the drier conditions. Here are her stats, Slower speed around 12 to 13mph. Medium revs tracks about 2" frome her finger and thumb hole. She currentl has a big blue pearl for medium to medium heavy drilled to roll a bit early, ablade pearl with an arc drilling(her favorite ball), and a monster frenzy drilled for skid snap. She doesn't have allot of luck out of solid reactives due to her slower speed. She is need of a ball for when the blade and frenzy are to much. She has no company preference. I was considering either the new true hammer or the slate blue gargoyle but wanted some other opinions. Any help is appreciated as always.
She throws 14lb also.
Thanks, cooksey

I picked my wife up a Power Groove this year. Our lanes are pretty dry, and plus I wanted to move her into a reactive ball, it has worked pretty good so far, and has alot of carry....even though it's a 12 pounder!!

cooksey,

Her speed seems too slow.  Is that speed calculated at the heads or decks??  If it was the decks then I would say it is fine, if not I would consider dropping a pound to gain some speed.

I dont think that speed is too bad. I dont know if you saw what I wrote on the other post YOU DELETED (jk) but I suggested a urethane Columbia Scout.

She may like something from the storm hot line.

How about a lane#1 plastic XXL?  Diamonds are a girls best friend.  You can tell her it's an engagement ball.

Hey Cooksey,

A weak resin should fit well under her Frenzy and Blade.  Something like a Col Scout, Power Groove, or Storm Big Hit.  Hope this helps..

Have heard nothing but good things about the Power Groove line up. Would suggest something like that. Don't know what Ebonite is doing with the Tornado line up those seemed to be pretty good to.

My fiancee's stats are very similar and she has had very good results with a Storm Hit on drier lanes.
