Well i was bowling a bit yesterday and stopped in the pro shop to see if he had any good balls on clearance, well not to much,. So I told him ( jokingly ) that I would give him $350 cash for a brand new Mutant cell, Virtual Energy, and Lane 1 Blue Massacre ( that hes had there forever..)  all drilled with inserts.. And he actually said yes. almost seems to good to pass up, but what do you guys think? the Mutant cell and virtual energy seem like they would be a good heavy oil solid/polished combo.. as far as the lane one, well lol for little to no $$ what the heck..

So yay or nay? I havent seen the Mutant cell at all but its the only heavy oil solid he had on the shelf, and Ive wanted a virtual energy for some time

Go for it $350 is a good price for any two balls out the door, let alone 3.

In my house, the Mutant Cell is taking over for the Virtual Gravity.  The Mutant is cleaner through the front with a strong backend finish.  It almost never seems to over-react.

The Virtual Energy looks like a great piece I'm contemplating getting.

I don't know a thing about the Blue Massacre.  But some guy on my team got a Lane 1 ball recently, the Red Death I think.  Fits his game really really well and has fantastic carry.

haha, you cheap SOB !!!

No, thanks guys for the heads up on the mutant cell, I thought it would be similar to the VG, so  that hopefully would be a great combo..

So is the MC pretty good in medium/heavy, or heavy only?

You offered and he accepted, stick with it!  Actually, you oughta jump on that before he changes his mind.  I mean, $115 a piece drilled with inserst?  That's a pretty good deal for just about anything that isn't plastic.

You probably will over lap the VE with the BDM at least some what to warrant leaving it out.  I mean "supposedly" the BDM is more even but layouts can change reaction shapes.

Like some one else posted offer $250 and get the Mutant and VE and skip the BDM.

I don't know about the BDM, but I have the MC and VE.  With the same surface/layout, the VE will pick up a touch sooner, with the MC having a bit more backend.

i did offer yea, but Me and him joke about that all the time.. Ill walk in there and say, "ready for me to take that reign off your hands for 120 /?" lol just bs talk.. but this time he actually said ok.. I actually  walked in asking for the MC and VE for 300.. he said " ha, nooo , what are you trying to do put me out of business? "  so then he said 350, I said what else do I get, he said the blue death cuz noones ever gonna buy it, cuz its been a dud ball for everyone so far

But to me the Blue death would be perfect for a local house with older wood lanes that hack the S#it out of your ball.. My DB already needs a resurface after about 25 games..  nicks and cuts everywhere

Blue death and VE would be too close in my opinion they are both hybrids (I think). And I wish I could bowl at your house where theres enough oil to throw balls that aggressive.

Tell me about it.  I have to resort to taking a Mars, Dark Star and Natural to my main house now.

well thats a reason I held off.. Im not doing the pbax this season,  IM doing the league where the only ball you can use is the Freeze.  There is one house that on fresh conditions I could use the VE and MC all night and not have issues, its literally a flood..  At my house I could get maybe one game out of either.. But just  the cost he wanted for all 3 seemed like it was almost to good of a deal to pass up, especially every other proshop in town charges 220+ for each of them..

Like I said , the Blue death would be the ball I use at one of the two houses in the city where the lanes chew up your ball pretty bad, other than that, its gonna probably sit in my closet in my single ball bag

The BDM isn''t a dud, just because it didn''t work for some it will work for others.

Don''t get me wrong I don''t buy into the L1 hype, I liked the way it performed, I just have other equipment I want to use instead.  I found it in OOB to handle mediums well, too strong for a late second shift condition though.

The VE is two parts pearl and one part solid while the BDM is one part of both.  You can probably drill both completely different and adjust the surface to achieve separate reactions.

...that is if you want to spend the $350

the only 2 balls going in my league bag would be the VE and MC.. THe BDM will more than likely never see one league game.. Just houses with crap  lanes .. 3 houses around the city have unlimited bowling for $8, but 2 of them have older wood lanes that just but a beating on my DB , so thats the last time I throw my good balls there

What do you need help with?  You don't have the cash to do it?

Sounds like you are just trying to brag or something.

The Blue Death is selling for $170 at Buddies or $150 at bowlingball.com.

Mutant Cell is $130.

Virtual Energy is $138 or $140.

So you're talking more than $420 worth of balls, and that doesn't include the drilling and inserts.

Take the 2 balls that you want, get the third undrilled and sell it to somebody on here.  You could even sell it and have your guy drill it for the buyer's specs!  Either way you're making out on the deal.
