I don't necessarily agree that Reagan was to blame for the demise of bowling due to, as the author put it "an elimination of the middle class blue collar worker." Although I am too young to remember bowling pre Reagan administration, I am old enough to have noticed the demise of my former bowling center and see a lot of the people I used to bowl with (including myself for a couple of years) quit the sport all together either out of frustration or other factors (school, new job, relocation, etc.) However none of this had to do with politics or Reagan. If the author wants look at the reasons for the demise of bowling maybe they should look at the number of bowling centers being renovated into Chuckee Cheese Lanes with laser tag arenas attached. Another reason is because bowling is pretty expensive, when you factor in league, open play, new equipment, etc. it can get expensive.
