help with my first bowling ball purchase?
« on: January 19, 2010, 02:50:43 AM »
im a left handed bowler 5'10 165lbs, im looking to get my first high performance ball but have no idea on what to get looking for ideas, I usually throw the ball with a ton of spin down the left side of the lane(i release usually around the first aarow on the left), I usually get good length down the left side of the lane than breaks late into the pocket, problem with this I normally use a house ball and looking to get into something for me, any ideas on when im looking for would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Best advice I think anyone could give on this is to take the time to meet your pro shop people and hope that you have someone in there that's really looking to help you find a ball that matches up to your game.

I say this because you've offered a little, but without seeing you throw, anyone can throw any ball out there and there's no guarantee it's going to work.

Also, there is no need sot a high performance ball if you are just starting out.  Low to mid priced balls offer just as much performance but cost less.

^^^ agree

Go to your pro-shop and talk to them, let them watch you bowl and then listen to what they have to say and suggest.

ill also agree about going to a good pro shop.

especially since now you can save a LOT and still get high performance.

Ton of speed with a house ball that breaks late...

Sounds to me that your bowling on the desert... Dry lanes...

I would go with a more polished reactive cover...

Maybe a Freeze or a Fast or a Sharp Noize...

But if you are looking for an earlier response, then maybe a ball with a box finish at a  4000 A-pad...

Many models out there to choose from....
