Help with oil tracks
« on: April 24, 2005, 08:06:30 AM »
I'm trying something new and i found a way that is easy for me to repeat but would like to know if the oil tracks are good for hook or not they are 1/2 in. from fingers and right next to/sometimes on the thumb hole, im trying to be a stroker, so is this good oil track for that or bad?

I track the same way.....you just need to find equipment that suits your game and someone who is knowledgeable to drill your stuff to suit your game as well.

I have a lower rev rate, although not VERY low. Track GP2 is my go to ball right now (I have 3 of them). I am usually 17-18 MPH but can vary either way as needed. I can also loft the ball out further if the heads stat to fry, and I track even higher the more I loft.

I'm a lower rev, medium-high speed player and my typical shot is considered down-and-in.  Most of the time, I would call myself a stroker.  My oil track consistently runs about a half-inch from my fingers, and then right alongside my thumb hole, flaring out away from the holes.  If I am correctly classified as a stroker, and that is what my shot looks like, you must be doing something right.

Triple X pearl or solid? Either way, they are both reactive, which means the cover does not have enough bite in oil to help you through it. I would suggest a particle ball, like the Rule GP2. The ball is awesome, very versatile cover and core. I have 3 drilled right now, and all react differently and have distinct different uses!

my X-Factor Deuce is drilled stacked leverage and is a similar ball to your XXX, and it hooks perfectly in med/heavy oil, although i get about medium/low revs on the ball. For a heavy oil ball as a fellow track pack member i would have to also point out the Rule GP2, amazing heavy oiler.
