Here's what you do. I've had a bit of experience with the IT system, and this is what I've found works the best. The slugs for that system can be sanded very smooth on the inside, enough to make them tacky. Now it's not them being tacky, it's being that with a good enough fit, it can create a suction or a vacuum at the bottom of the hole that's not wanting to let your thumb get out as cleanly as normal. Take the slug out, and drill a small hole through the slug directly on the vent notch that runs from top to bottom on the side of the slug. When I say small hole, I mean small hole. You just want it big enough to let some air in without damaging the structural integrity of the slug. You will be amazed.
