Help with the track on my ball
« on: February 06, 2004, 09:45:54 PM »
I'll throw 2 strike balls that feel identical and one will have the track just to the left of my middle finger and the other will be over my middle finger... any idea who to stop this?  Is it inconsitency in my wrist position?  Thanks.

It could be how much u cup, or dont cup at different times, if your hand is tilted right or left at different times, if you come out of the ball differently, many things, but these are the leading causes of that I think.

it has alot to do with how you release the ball, now it is drilled and where the PAP is.

my V2 tracks about an inch and a half from my middle finger, while my black cherry bomb tracks almost 4" away from my middle finger. the BCB is drilled more aggressively, and i release it with alot more axis tilt. if the balls are both crushing the pocket, i wouldn't worry.

i don't care who makes it, how much it costs, or how sexy the ball looks. does it carry the 7 and level the deck? did i just beat you? aren't i clearing the heads with my $60 ball?

Hey Kid,

Tracking next to your finger means it's coming off on the side but when you clip the finger, it means your coming up behind it or thru it too much at the actual point of release.  Make sure your palm is facing the left wall of the center when you're done in your follow thru, this will ensure a better counter clockwise motion at release which should help keep you off your fingers.  Excaliber's a good guy, glad you went to see him.  Good luck...
