Here we go, watered down version of my arsenal post

Ok, I have everything nailed down except for my heavy oil ball.  Most of these I haven't seen anyone throw.  I've seen technical data sheets and every other thing about these balls, but there are a couple factors I'd like ideas on.  Maintenance, angularity, lifespan, durability, versatility, drill adaptability, and responses to various coverstock changes.  Here is the list.

Track Phenom - Worries me a bit because of being Columbia produced, BUT Track seems to have the corner on the heavy oil ball market, and the video bits on their websit for it are very impressive.

X-Factor Reloaded - I've had problems with Storm dying on me when I alter the coverstock in any way.  However, being that it's a sanded pearl particle, I have a feeling it would be more easily polished than a Deuce if need be, hence my decision for the Reloaded between the two.

V2 Strong - The V2 Solid was incredibly popular, but the only thing I'm thinking of with this one is that it doesn't have the dual flip blocks, which isn't a big deal really, but I'm thinking it'll roll sooner and more evenly than I'd like.  Also I've heard a lot from people I know about Ebonite's dying fairly quickly.  With Hook Again, lifespan shouldn't be as much of a factor, but it could get expensive for a ball that dies quickly.

Black Cherry Bomb - This was the one I was most interested in, but the original is revving and hooking when it hits the floor, and with the length of the patterns I see, that's NOT a good thing.  Hoping it might be close to the LRG though . .

Fuze Detonator - Have one that's been sitting in the shop for ages.  I like Brunswick and the Fuze line, but I've seen a couple of them that have died.  That's natural with any proactive ball, although it scares me a little.  Pretty sharp reaction for a particle ball though, that's enticing.

Erase-It - I've had one before, and absolutely LOVED it.  I have a chance to get one or more of them pretty cheap, and could stash some NIB's in the closet for a rainy day.  It lived through a lot of use and coverstock changes.  Eventually it died, but it had a great run for me.

Bottom line, I'm NOT a fan of the Apex's, anything Columbia, or smaller market stuff.  On a side note, I'm interested in the Element for the Soaker coverstock, one of the Silver Streaks, and PERHAPS one of the Vendettas.  Not a big Hammer fan either.  Lol, and I said this was watered down . .

I just recieved a Reloaded and would not say it is a heavy oil ball, unless you have slower ball speed. One you might look at is the newest Brunswick, the Raging Inferno. That looks like a hook monster and being Brunswick probably a very good heavy oil ball. In the Storm line you might hold off just a short time, my understanding is that a particle X-factor is next on the list. Oh and the Erase-it is no longer being manufactured.

Rotogrip Fuel. its a particle that reacts like a pearl, nice heavy late roll, 7 inches of flare and laughes at oil and carrydown.

I know the Erase-It was discontinued a long time ago, but being that I work in a pro shop, we get supplier close-out lists every once and a while of what they have left and need to clear out, so I HAD access to them before they went so fast, but there's always Ebay too.  And as a matter of fact, it doesn't matter, cause I can't get any of them.  Finances really tightened up between me posting, and this reply.  And of course the only Ebay bid I don't want to win does, so now I had to borrow to pay it off.  I was gonna buy a ball from somebody on here, and now I had to back out of that.  So the balls I bought on Ebay I'm gonna probably have to sell . . .  And of course the pro shop isn't making squat, so I'm gonna be making less next month . .  Oh well.  Thanks anyway, at least I have that info to pass on now.
