Ok, maybe this should go in drilling, but here goes.
In my latest ball I needed a wt. hole.  Had about 1 1/4 oz too much side wt.  So we started w/ a 1" hole 1.5 inches deep.  Needed to take out a bit more.  So we took out the 1 1/8 inch bit and went 1" deep.  Can you do that?  I.e, wt hole is two sizes?

As far as I know, as long as it remains just a single balance hole (except for vent holes, these are additionally allowed) you should be O. K.

yes it should be legal.  many times a wt. hole must be adjusted deeper or larger to get the ball in balance or to where you desire the weight to be.

question,  how many holes are you { a bowler } allowed to have in a ball?
