I bowled opening weekend and shot lower 1900 all events with my first game 187 which was my only game below deuce.Team house first I would caution you about the approaches ,the slide area was extremely slick to start but after a few frames was fine. The best shot seemed to out side to start and even the big handed guys had to move right or they were flagging the headpin even with aggressive equipment also there was very defined dry area so your ball will check hard off of it..Doubles and singles house had less oil but again I had to stand further right to begin with or the ball would struggle to face up to the pocket. If you arrive early  and see people hooking the whole lane it's because the shot breaks down extremely fast so you need to be ready to move left or things will get real ugly.Used a polished Siege for most of the weekend  but tried a dull surface Wildcard in the juice at the team house for a frame or two and the last game of D/S switched to my Avalanche Slide when I was  running out of room on the  left.
  Good luck

Well I bowled the last weekend of feb. As far as the approaches I was wearing a slide sock on my linds at team house as I thought they were very tacky. My best shot at team was to play slight belly to around 7 at break point with fair ball speed. As long as you got it far enough down the lane at 7 it was in the pocket. Had to move in just a little toward middle of 3rd game. Was using a cell pearl. As far as the d/s house we bowled at 8 am and started the same shot just was using a sling shot and just kept moving in. Never did get comfortable at the d/s house.

i am going this weekend as well, have heard much of the same stuff. s/d house breaks down quickly, team house is slick, but given scores there, must be a fair amount of area just the same.  i am bowling saturday 1200pm at team and 130pm at s/d....for those who will be there this weekend..

We have s/d at 5:30 on Saturday and team at 11:30 on Sunday.

I am hearing pretty much the same as has been mentioned above.  A few have been saying there is a ton of oil but I think that is just because they are used to it being bone dry where they bowl league.

Bowled this a few weeks ago. I bowl at both houses every week in different leagues. Team house i never had a look. it was definitely hooking more than normal, but it was because the guys we were paired up with had a lot of stronger sanded equipment. the middles were blown open but if you got it through the dry it never made it back. it was pretty crappy and i had like 570 something. d/s house is usually a little more oil in the middle but a shorter pattern. we got lucky on our draw and the guys in front of us played straight down the lane and created a huge hold spot around 15 and broke them down anywhere right of that. i had a great look the first 2 games of singles and couldnt get the corners out, but shot 300 last game to have 776 (3rd right now) and then for doubles had like 690 so it wasnt a bad weekend.

what others have said is pretty true. for a house shot, if you play them wrong to start, they can get UGLY!!!

well..team house was all about back end for me...3 board at 40 feet, perfect flush. oh and a fair amount of hold too. i did alright there, 718 with 3 low count splits.  s/d was drier, with a major dry spot about 30 ft downlane between 10 and 15 boards.  after 135 157 first 2 games threw my white dot for 258.  then 204 199 268 in doubles, again with white dot.

hey ryan, ya know JJ then?  i know him from iowa city..and good shooting btw..
