cleaning a ball
« on: April 30, 2009, 01:22:02 AM »
Whenever I clean a ball with a bowling ball cleaner my ball goes much longer than before.

when I clean it with hot water and soap, it hooks earlier and stronger.

Why is this?
--------------------
High game 300, 298(no middle finger) 290, 290(no middle finger)
2 handed (279) 710
High series 804
High triplicate 774
High average 221
best game. when I was 6 I bowled a 158

I have a 16# morich awesome finish I want to trade.  1 season on it.    I am looking for 15# stuff

Sometimes a bowling ball cleaner will leave a sheen on a ball.  If you throw the ball for a game or so, the sheen wears off.  If I clean a ball with cleaner, especially on a spinner, I run the ball with an old 4000 Ablaron pad to take the sheen off and clean the pores a little.

Also soaking the ball is a stronger/deeper cleaning then just using a cleaner.
