Cleaning coverstocks
« on: March 01, 2005, 01:52:44 AM »
I was just wondering what the best way was to keep your coverstocks clean and in the best condition while bowling.  I heard that you are supposed to use rubbing alcohol after every three games then a ball cleaner after 9 games. The other day while bowling i was told that the rubbing alcohol will decrease the coverstock life by 50% and windex was a better choice for cleaning.  I was wondering what you all think of this and how you keep your bowling stuff like new.  Any comments/suggestions?

Dont use alcahol, it doesnt do anything but rub oil around on the coverstock. Use a degreaser like 409, or simple green, or orange clean. I use 50:50 orange clean and water.

Use approved cleaners for the best results.

Simple green works well too.

Protect the coverstock with the Elixer and make cleaning easier and extend the life of the ball.
