I agree, to a certain point. As you will see in my profile, I use nothing but old stuff (brunswick) with one exception. Now my tournament bags however are alot different. The old stuff for me is "hell on wheels" for the THS, but those turn into to spare balls or late late block balls for me on tourny patterns.

Want to talk old balls, besides JLS' lol, I still have a Plastic Wolf that I use for spares and extreme dry conditions. Best spare ball ever.

And when our league decided to reduce the oil volume during last season, or at least it seemed like they did as the lanes began to fly, I broke out my old AMF Sumo to throw. Now I didn't roll any 299's with it, lol, but I did have about half a dozen 250+ games with it. In fact one night I had a classic head-to-head showdown with another high average bowler in our league.....Me throwing the Suom, he was throwing his White Dot.
