In the rubber and urethane days, I was a high tracker, track about 1/2 in wide, about 1/2 in from thumb, 3/4 from fingers. Today, with the resin and particle stuff I have, my track has moved to about 1 1/2 to 2 in from the thumb and 2 to 2 1/2 in from the fingers (i.e. on the first oil ring).
What release changes have I made to change the track location? Is higher or lower track better today? In the hard rubber days, I understood a high track was best.
BTW, my lowest flaring ball is an old polished Storm Hot Shot, CG in the palm, Pin just below the ring, and using that ball to set my PAP, I am 5 1/8 over, 3/8 up, which indicates a fairly high track.
I'm confused. Does the higher flaring stuff lead to lower track?
