What does your local pro shop charge for the following pro shop services.

Drill a blank ball.

Plug and redrill a ball.

I have a question, and it may just be splitting hairs here but why is there a difference in the price for drilling conventional and fingertip?  You are still putting 3 holes in the ball, just different sizes and farther apart.

Anyone know that?  Pro shop operators?

Most common thing i get my pro to do with my gear is full plug and redrill-50 bucks

Add on another 20 for inserts and thumb slug.

Typically fingertip layouts are a little more complex than the conventional.  If it were just drilling 3 holes it would be one thing but most of the time it is not that simple.  Drill prices vary due to location.  Prices in the San Francisco bay area are a lot higher than they are in Southern Oklahoma.  The economies is a lot different. Cost of living is a big issue.

Just my opinion,  but in most cases it takes way less time to drill a ball conventional.  Usually the drilling layout may be very basic and may not require a balance hole.  So in the end, a pro shop can drill a conventional in less time.  However there are rare cases where a bowler using a conventional grip does require a layout that may need a balance hole.   This is not the norm.  

Most bowlers using high tech drilling layouts use a fingertip grip.  And it is the added time needed to layout these drillings that may be the reason some charge more.

20-40 depending on type of ball for plank drill and 25-30 for plug and redrill is what i charge
