I'm looking to give my Hammer Raw Anger a hot water bath for the first time. I know there have been many topics posted about it and its process, but i do have a question. The Anger is currently at 500 grit (as i use it for the heavy stuff) and i have never rejuvenated it or given it a hot water bath. My question is, do i have to adjust the cover or anything before the bath, or just plop it in the bucket and go through the process? After i get done with the hot water bath, do i need to do anything to the cover?( i want it back at 500). Thank you for the insight!

I just put my bowling ball in and do nothing to the cover. Works fine for me.

thanks kidjete, and zfennell for that info! Hadn't really given it that much thought, but it does kinda make sense!

I am in the midst of hot water bathing my Black Widow. This ball was slimy greasy, when I bathed it the first time. Have bathed it an additional two times since then, and the cover is now tacky, much like when it was first bought.

I may go one more time after roughing the surface lightly. This should really improve reaction after I finally do finish prep.
