Title: Highest average in your league so far???
Post by: UCFKnight300 on September 27, 2005, 03:23:23 PM: It's been 5 weeks now and friend on my team is at 252.5. It's pretty nuts. Just wondering how high some of the scores out there are. Rev-O??

I had a career month and am averaging 240+ altogether. High average currently around 245. No league under 237 I think. It wont last.

Post by: Goof1073 on September 28, 2005, 07:23:41 AM: High average right now in my league is 244 after 4 weeks...I'm at 240 and a friend of mine is just behind me at 239. These averages won't last as nobody has averaged 240 for a season at our house...but mid 230's isn't out of the question.

We'll see what happens around school vacations (lots of colleges near by) and our typical 2 Sundays a year (so we can finish early)...those usually make for some "interesting" shots.

Post by: walker300 on September 28, 2005, 07:35:27 AM: Coming in to this week in my Monday night league, I was at 237.6 for 3 weeks. Not bad at all but i was 6th on the average list!! One guy has had 2 800s and is around 259 or so. It is crazy.

I think we've had one guy avg above 220 for a full season w/ a good
many that avg between 200-210.

In the Friday night classic league 247 is the high there as well (64 bowlers), 12 averaging better than 222...

And they say in this house the shot got tighter.

That's why I'm not bowling leagues this season...

...they made the pattern a whole 2 feet shorter trying to make the shot "different" and scores went up, go fig!

Post by: DP3 on September 29, 2005, 11:12:49 AM: I got back from watching one of the guys on my collegiate team bowl league last night and all I could say was Wow. 17 5-man teams, 13 750+ sets, 822 & 813 high sets for the night, countless 279-299 games(no 300s, shocker) with the majority of the guys having 170-180 physical games. My friend even goes 278 the last game just to win 1 out of 10 brackets. Perfect example of how technology and walled up conditions are trivializing what other have worked hard to learn how to do. Now everyone has power, even 13mph fluffers can swing the entire lane and send messengers.

I think the most grotesque part of it all is how easy spare shooting has become as a result of ridiculous house shots. Lets see, how do we go about making the tenpin? Simply take a giant step left, wing the hell out of the ball, wether it's plastic, resin, or particle, get the ball to the 1 board at 35 feet, watch it catch friction and check up, then burn out as a result of all of the friction on the gutter on it's way to a "perfect tenpin conversion". How about making leftside spares? Why, that's as easy as taking a giant step right and abusing all friction to the right to simply funnel your ball on its way to the pins you need to knock over.

Gotta love THS.

Post by: Bowling General on September 29, 2005, 03:11:25 PM: it's only 5 weeks, talk to the house they like to make it easy to start with to get people into bowling good at the first of the year. with an 250 I would just talk with 300 & 800 not the 260 & 270 games
you can always see how good you are and use a house ball
