Highest Rev Rate
« on: February 07, 2013, 11:55:29 AM »
Just out of curiosity!

What's the highest rev rate you've heard of/seen?  Any good videos out there?

I don't even care if it's not practical. Novelty is fun.

There is no doubt the still "King" of revs is the Deceased Jimmy Keeth (PBA National champion)who threw into the 700s when measured at Kegel.

He didn't throw that every night but was usually above 600 every night just softballing it at 20 mph on his strike ball and 30 on his spare ball.

A team I was on brought him in some important league nights to throw thunder at the pins!  He often did!

He cocked his wrist so much that the ball was resting on his forearm in his backswing.

Wow, how can you all not mention the guy who has the nickname, Rudy "Revs" Kasimakis. He was one of the first high rev players.

There was a local guy here, Ralph Smith. Back in the mid to late 90s when I first started in junior bowling we would go practice on a Friday night when he was bowling league. This guy threw the ball around 16mph, and easily covered 18 to 5 with a columbia white dot. That is all I ever saw him throw. It was amazing. Very effortless. No clue what his rev rate would be but it was no doubt very high.
…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.

To be sort of funny...

two nights ago in league a 68 year old on my team was covering 18 to 4 with a BLUE dot!  It was a very direct line for him!

No lie!

He achieves on his fast days about 8.5 mph!  He asks me every ball(and anyone within ear shot), "WHY" he didn't carry!

PS by the way....Jimmy Keeth
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E05HvUfNUlU  Jimmy I would guess these in the 500 rpm to 550 range.  In league with reactives he amped it up quite a bit!  At Kegel another notch!

I got confirmation from a good friend at USBC that E.A.R.L is capable of 900 RPM at 24 mph! I don't know if they've ever actually tried it, but that would certainly be something to see up close! lol As far as humans I've seen, the most I've seen in person would be Belmo or Derek Eoff. It's really something to see that kind of speed and power up close, and the sick part is that they look effortless doing it!

Anybody know of any video from E.A.R.L besides that stupid video of him losing to Chris Barnes?
