League management software?
« on: April 12, 2004, 09:33:31 AM »
Can anybody recommend a good package?  I'll be running my first league soon and am looking for something to help with the management.

I'd recommend BLS-2004 (although next season it'll most likely be called 2005).

It's from CDE Software and you can download a free trial demo at

One of my leagues uses the Leaguesecretary.com software. The secratary of the league says it's really good and easy to use. As a bonus all your league information is online for all. To see a sample, click the link in my profile.

Shotmaker:  That's the same software package I was talking about, BLS-2004 from CDE.

The beauty of CDE's package is you can upload your standings to leaguesecretary.com and bowl.com with the click of one button

Thanks guys, I found several packages, but when it comes to recommendations, this one is the only one people have recommended.

The Perfect Secretary Deluxe (Treasure Software Co.) looks pretty slick. Anybody have any links for this program? Thanks.

I have used Bowl 101 for several years. It has handled everything I have tried to do with it. The printouts match the ABC/WIBC forms. Nothing real fancy, just clean and simple.

It costs less than half of what the other league secretary programs cost. If you have a problem, you call Randy Stowe, the author, at home. He has always been able to get me through a problem.

Check it out at http://www.bowl101.com
You can try it BEFORE you buy it.

I have used the BLS software for about 4 years and found that for the price it is a great package.  I upgraded to the 2004 pro with brackets just in case one of my leagues decides brackets are something they want to do.  Not only does it track awards, etc but you can set up a free website also.

I read about the Perfect Secretary software at the time, it was more expensive and didn't really offer a better package than the BLS.  I think they are both comprable in price right now, but since I am an existing BLS user, upgrades to the new edition are considerably cheaper than switching.
