I agree with TGOD
The core makes the difference. The older urethanes had simple pancake weight blocks(most of them). Today with a urethane like C300s Black Messenger, or Lane 1s XXL they hit just as hard. About 10 yrs or so ago C300 came out with the Stingray/C, I believe it had an almost identical core as the Cuda/C and it hit tremendously.
More on the reactive vs urethane though, if there is carry down, and you do not have the urethane scuffed or sanded, it will hit terribly.
