Hitting thumb hole on low flare balls
« on: May 28, 2003, 11:34:27 AM »
I've drilled up a white dot, clear wolf, skull ball, vector 1, 2 black magics, and a t shark. All hit the thumb hole when i try and throw them w/my regular release. The plastics are fine doing this, but would like to know if anything could be done especially w/the t shark to make it stop hitting the thumb hole. Would an extra hole do the trick?

Great one,
You just need to learn to tilt the ball a little. Assuming you are not throwing a full roller but just tracking so high that you are hitting the thumb hole. When you release the ball your fingers end up directly under the thumb hole. To tilt it you will have to go around the thumb hole just a little. Sometimes it works to just try rolling the ball more with the middle finger instead of the ring finger.
Bowl great!
