Holy Crap!
« on: August 07, 2007, 07:01:25 AM »
[B) I just found out that there's an average restrition on 700 series awards the the "New and improved" USBC are giving to members. This is an outrage!!
this means that your paying dues to not getting any thing from the new congress. Even now instead of getting a 300 ring every year(Still waiting for my first), they change it to a lifetime award . Once again the little man get the shaft!

On the very small upside, at least they brought the older version of the ring back.

The bottom line, beyond the "little man's" feelings, is that the integrity of the game is missing. Sadly, a 700 doesn't mean what it used to. Nor does a 300. Nor does any honor score.

Now, would it be better to see the USBC actually go out and do something about the integrity? Yes, of course. How about they fix the game, rather than the award distribution? Yes, that'd be awesome. But will it happen in the very near future, and is this a step in the right direction? No for the first, yes to the second.

thats O.K. for those who can get that, but why put restriction on the 700 award like that. it should be for EVERYONE. This will be the first year that I won't get one!

who cares if you can't get 700 award? If you shot one every year what is the big deal if you don't get an award for it ? I don't understand this will make you work to shot 800 the idea is to get credibility back right? the little guy might have to suffer not everyone can play Football or BaseBall at any level if Bowling is a Sport should it be different.

The restriction on the 700 series award has been there for years.  You have to be 210 or less to get one.  Plus you realize that on all the awards you are only given one per year.  The multiple awards can go into the computer for your over all stats, but you get one emblem/pin/ring a year.

The suede-esque material has just the right feel, grip, and balance I need. They are the #1 frisbee on the market, and cheap too!

Which makes me wonder...the real reason for getting rid of the award might be so that Boje and his band of directors can sit in the office and play catch with each other.

The USBC is moving towards integrity.

Every year, step by step, the awards for scores rolled in recreational bowling are being eliminated.  Eventually, only scores rolled on Sport or PBA Experience lane conditions will qualify for awards.

The problem with bowling isn't the number of high scores being rolled.  The problem is that we bowlers want premium awards for rolling high scores on the easiest possible lane conditions.  This is unsustainable.  Our dues won't support it.

Integrity will be achieved when the only scores being honored, are scores rolled on difficult lane conditions.

We all know this isn't an integrity of the game issue, it comes down to the almighty dollar.  They just want to give us less back for a sanction fee.

They've eliminated nearly all those too.

Looks like eBay's pricing of 700 patches is gonna make a move in some folk's favor!  For all of the 700 first-timers that may have established a 210+ average before throwing their first 700 will be on the lookout to purchase something for their achievement.

USBC has forgotten that the bowlers are the one that are paying the payrolls for the knuckleheads in Wisconsin. Taking away some of the awards that some people really enjoyed recieving every year. We are paying more and recieving less for our money, the awards plan out suck, and now the man that was the front running reason for the merger has stepped down, mmmm maybe he couldn't take the heat.

I'm pretty sure that the 300 lifetime award ring only applies to the PBA Experience leagues.  Which in my opinion is okay since for each successive 300 game you receive an additional diamond as an insert.

As far as 2007 - 2008 standard leagues go, I'm sure it is limitied to one award per year per category, i.e. 300, 800, 11 in a row (299 or less).
