I thought I read the alley where the Hoinke was held had closed.  Did they
move the tourney to another house ?

Im so glad people are brainwashed to think that TRACK sucks. And its even funnier when im carrying with my TRACK ball and they're going flat ten with their OTHER BRANDS ball.

That usually happens when people can't read or spell.

I depends what shift you are on.

They are loaded up pretty good early.  Here is the trick .... the lanes are 20+ yr old Brunswick synthetics that are pretty worn.  They use an old Lanewalker oil machine and freshen the shot with an old Century machine.

Since the machines cannot use the newer, thicker oils, they load it up with lots of thinner oil.  Therefore the lanes change and change quickly.  The lo side of the house always hooks more than the hi side ... the lower number lanes are worn more.  The high side is always tighter.  The middle lanes (20's thru 40's) depend on how much play they have that day, so pay attention.

The breakpoint is NEVER outside 10 on any pair and the place caters to big hands. The tighter inside line is usually money there. The miss room out to the right is minimal if non-existent, pulled shots can hold depending on your style. I bowl there all the time ... the shot plays like a soft Scorpion pattern.

Agreed.  I bowled there over the summer, big scores shot on the low side of the house.  The tight inside line is the most forgiving that I found.  You can also play straight up 10 or so, or swing it a bit depending on your hand.  Both of those choices require consistent ball speed and accuracy.  The shot is a little tougher than your typical house shot, and guys with more hand tend to have more miss room right.

Don't forget that is you mis wide early, the lane offers recovery.  If you miss wide late, your toast!

The lanes were the best during the 2nd shift each day.  I bowled the HOINKE twice this season.

Although I scored pretty well playing the track area on a couple pairs the best place to score is inside.
